Long overdue

So busy haven’t had a chance to update the web. Ryan Worcester came through on an extreme machine motorcycle with a bike rack on his way to the southwest out of the rain of Washington. Zac Costa is still going to school in Richmond and is neighbors with Crandall. Check the fbm site for pics. Made a wedding ring for Jamie McParland out of his old Haro Sport. Congrats. Aussie Mike Cernotta went on a wild trip and wrote about it here: west-oz-bmx@blogspot.com. Otherwise he is working in a mine. Some other Australians came through a few weeks ago, drank all our beer, brought more and snatched up racoons barehanded. Thanks Daniel and Ian. Nick Hammer put together a new All American frame and Colby Larson sent over some pics.

Sponsored the Nor Cal Classic, where a bunch of dudes come and ride the race trackand some jumps. Cam Birdwell and Damien apparently ruled even though they used to be the biggest messes back in the day.

Go to embassybikes.com to check out the work Eric is doing and get their new video. Same with Liquor bikes. There is a contest in Atascadero on the 9th of January benefitting a new park.

Made some sample frames for Robbie Morales and his new deal, Cult. We dubbed this frame the “45″. Who doesn’t want a Colt 45 about now?

Free Kweli

First Rule collective/bay-area O.G./ steel reserve sippin/overall great guy and good friend Kweli recently got arrested while liberating capped rails and ledges in San Francisco in anticipation for this weekend’s First Rule jam.  To raise money for an attorney, since those public “pretenders” defenders aren;t worth shit these days, Chris San Augustin is auctioning his bike on Ebay as well as a brand new Eastern Grim Reaper frame that I recently got ahold of.  Even if for some strange reason you dont like Eastern and think that there products are garbage, get into the gimmick and buy this one anyway and help a homie out. After you break it you can get hooked up with a Solid

Be sure to check it out on Nov 1st in S.F, Hell on Wheels 5.    First Rule

Off, off and away

Brent and myself have purchased our plane tickets for Interbike in Vegas. We will be there Thursday and thats it, back home to reality. If you want to meet up with us, we will be the ones with no badges and no where to go in particular. Zac has made it to Richmond and is fitting in nicely. Maybe not… Crandall quote “Costa is too much for us to handle.” Should get some stories out of him at the show.  Some Canadian loves our 8 1/4″ bars so much that he had them tatooed on himself.

Mike Ivory got a new AA put together and Miles K. from Horsebite.com sent in the pics.

And Dorito got a new frame that he actully loves to ride. He got his foot fixed too.

Hey man thought I would send you some pics….I F N love this bike man its the best one I have ever ridden I am spreading the word about Solid….the FUCKING BEST!!!”

Fastest BMXer on Solid

Long time Solid family member Brent Everitt became the fastest BMXer on Solid last week. For those of you who don’t know Brent and his family, they have been racing land speed since 2004 at Bonneville and El Mirage. Last week was Speed Week at Bonneville. So the family packed up the race car and the crew and headed out to break a land speed record for their race class {current record is 260mph}.

This year Brent was given the honor of driving. But without having a race license had to go thru the steps to get the chance to break thier class record. At Bonneville there are two tracks. One is three miles long, which he drove once to get his D license at 150mph to graduate to the five mile track. Brent then drove the five mile track six times where he had five runs over 190mph and a finial run at 196.385mph. He says he is happy, but unsatisfied. The car has some bugs to work out before  the next race in November at El Mirage where he is planing on going 200mph. GO FAST BROTHER!!!!

New Frames

Here were supposed to be some pics of the new AAv2 with Supertherm tubing and new dropouts as well as pics of the All American which has the same geometry and a lower price tag. But Windows Vista is the biggest piece of shit. More specs on Monday.

Newest AA frames

Just gettin some of the new ones done, here is a pic and testimonial by Damian “Squirrel” Schinella.

“I have been riding BMX bikes since 1985 when I met Cecil Johns at Calabasas in San Jose. Since then I have had many bikes. At 30+ years now, this is by far HANDS DOWN the greatest bike I have ever ridden. This frame stands for everything that should be the standard for bikes today. If its made in Taiwan, its fucking WAAN! This “All American” frame is stiffer, lighter, and shorter than anything that I have ridden not to mention handmade by people who know and care about BMX. The bike is basically a machine, you press a button, and shit happens. Much thanks to SOLID for keeping Nor Cal Alive with some real quality product instead of the huge variety of Asian shit. Real is steel and why ride anything than did not absolutely match your ability and hunger to take it to the next level.

Peace and love,
Squirrel”

Here are the action shots I promised. Only about 6hours logged on the bike when these were snapped but the bike is the SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone is jocking it and biting on it. All I can say is SOLID is in Sacramento, call them up.

More pics of both new frames tomorrow once I get them from the powdercoater.

Thanks, Aaron

Bruce Crisman going backwardsSo for the last year Bruce Crisman has been working on his second video. A follow up to the “FACAD” video. Which had some amazing and creative riding. Bruce, with some new people and some old friends from the N.W. have been at it again. And with some of the rumors I’ve heard, I’m sure the new video will be just as amazing and creative.

Bruce has been kind enough to send a copy of the new video “SHOLA” to us for a video a video premier. So come check it out, and support an O.G. Solid family member.  We will be showing the video on August 21 at Referee’s Sports Bar at 7:00 p.m. with no cover charge.

Hope ta c-ya there, Andy Merrall
